tips for new buyer’s agent?
i’m a new agent trying to help my buyers find a home in the san francisco area. my broker isn’t that helpful. i have pulled up comps and found a few houses to sell. any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I would not worry about the comps so much. Since you are not going to represent any sellers they are not an issue for you.
You are not very clear about what you need help with. The bay area is tricky as there are so many MLS services, make sure you check the major ones for the city you are assisting buyers in, but also check the alliance.
If you want to post another question pinpointing where you are maybe someone can help you more. The "bay area" covers a huge area, and more demographics then most states have.
